Pros:
- André Cluytens was not as prolific in the Wagner arena as some of his colleagues which is a shame because every time I encounter this conductor in Wagner it is a revelation. In his hands the orchestration seems at times lighter than air.
- Hans Hopf makes the role of Siegfried sound downright easy.
- Birgit Nilsson is found at the height of her (astonishing) vocal powers.
Cons:
- There is some occasional static.
