Pros:
- Hans Hopf, captured here at the height of his powers, is a burly Siegfried, equally comfortable with stentorian bombast as well as the many lyrical moments throughout the opera.
- Birgit Nilsson's appearance is nothing short of magnificent.
Cons:
- Hermann Uhde's appearance as the Wanderer is a bit disappointing especially when contrasted with Jerome Hines stunning Wotan in Die Walküre.
