Pros:

  • Peter Glossop seamlessly combines his Verdi baritone with his Shakespearean sensibility to create a performance of Falstaff that would have pleased both masters.
  • Alice Ford is a tough role for a soprano to shine in, but a young Éva Marton manages to do just that all while radiating joy.
  • Oralia Dominguez' formidable mezzo is right at home in the role of Mistress Quickly.

Cons:

  • The only disappointment is Alain Vanzo as Fenton. The role is just too light for this otherwise excellent singer.
