Pros:
- Pauline Tinsley would have owned the role of Elektra if she had been singing it today. Fortunately this recording preserves her unique brand of brilliance that combined a fiery temperament, a voice of limitless power and a deep connection to ever word that was uttered from her lips.
- Anny Schlemm is excellent as Klytämnestra matching Tinsley in intensity and playing off of her well dramatically.
Cons:
- There is a fair amount of rustling of the microphone throughout the opera.
In Mono
Bonus:
Pauline Tinsley sings Elektra's monologue in English (Cardiff, 1977)
