I first heard Soulitis on her Decca recital in 1968, probably a year or twoafter the recording was made. The cover showed a vibrant young women. WhenI heard her, I thought, “My God! She already sounds famous, fat and forty. What is she doing singing this heavy music?”I wonder how many people advised her to take a different path.I was so happy to find live recording of her on this site. I wish she had mademore recordings in her mezzo days. Thanks, Andy.
