These days if there is anything rarer than a performance of Thaïs, it is a performance of Thaïs in Italian.  Here Raina Kabaivanska takes on the daunting title role.   I was surprised to hear how well she could cope in lighter repertoire.  I had always known her in spinto parts. The sound is good.
