Fans of Berit Lindholm will appreciate this Swedish-language performance of Nabucco, where she is at her best unleashing her ferocious top notes, though less convincing in the coloratura passages. Unfortunately, the first scene of Act IV—featuring “Va, pensiero” and Zaccaria’s aria and cabaletta—suffers from a prominent ghost of another performance imprinted on the original tapes. John-Erik Jacobsson, as Ismaele, struggles to meet the demands of the role.
