It is a testament to Renata Scotto's artistry that even when she was relatively unknown she did not shy away from taking on roles that were rarities. Maria Rohan did not enjoy the resurgence that Puritani and Pirata did and that is too bad. There is some lovely and unique music. Scotto sings her part with abandon. Oliviero de Fabritiis has no trouble breathing Italian style into the work. Go ahead.
