This performance captures Lucia Popp at the beginning of her career. Her voice still has all the agility and upper extension and it shows the hints of a richness that would grow allowing her to try such parts as Eva in Meistersinger later on. And of course she brings her signature charm and sense of fun to the role. The sound is fair.
