Pros:

  • Carlo Cossutta exudes charm and grace as Ricardo.
  • Wagnerian soprano Catarina Ligendza demonstrates that she is more than competent in the world of Verdi, managing some delicate singing that her normal diet of Wagner and Strauss didn't always afford her.
  • Eva Randová brings a feral quality to the role of Ulrica.
  • Ingvar Wixell's luxurious baritone is well at home in the role of Renato, however at times the top doesn't quite bloom like you would want it to.

Cons:

  • None to mention.
