- Liane Synek delivers a Turandot that easily rivals any of the great exponents of this role.
- Her steely voice eviscerates the orchestra, and she relishes every high note with thrilling abandon. She also brings a good deal of warmth, giving the character a human quality that you rarely hear in this part.
- Eugene Tobin is a very fine Calàf, as is the Liù of Liselotte Hammes.
- The excerpts feature all of Turandot's music.
