- Liane Synek might be one of the most underrated dramatic sopranos in the history of opera. Although she spent many summers at Bayreuth, she never graduated past Norns and Valkyries. Her voice had all of the cutting power of Nilsson, as well as considerable warmth, making her ideal in Italian roles like Amelia in Un ballo in maschera and Abigaille in Nabucco as well as German roles like Elektra and Brünnhilde.
- This compilation features arias and excerpts from Nabucco, Don Carlo, Un Ballo in maschera, Turandot, Elektra, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Die Walküre and Tristan und Isolde.
- If you have not encountered this remarkable artist yet you are in for quite a treat!
