Anita Cerquetti was a soprano whose legacy exists almost entirely on live recordings. This recording documents her at her best. She floats Verdian line with such creamy elegance. She is joined by Flaviano Labò, Nell Rankin and Norman Treigle, similarly under-recorded artists whose body of work is only preserved through live recordings like this. The sound is not ideal but it faithfully delivers these wonderful performers.
