Pros:
- Christel Goltz takes a break from her normal diet of Elektras and Salomes to show her more refined side. As it turns out her ample soprano was also capable of some magnificent lyrical singing.
- Josef Metternich brings folksy elegance to the role of Mandryka.
- I only knew Anny Schlemm from her character mezzo parts (i.e. Klytämnestra, Herodias) so I was shocked to see her here as Zdenko. I was doubly shocked to discover how remarkable she was in her early years.
Cons:
- None to mention.
