Pros:
- The forces of the English National Opera make a very good argument for the merits of Smetana's Dalibor, thanks to the excellent musical leadership of Charles Mackerras, as well as the superb English diction of the cast.
- John Mitchinson delivers a commanding performance in the title role.
- Anne Evans' honey-toned Milada, although youthful in nature, gives the occasional glimpse of the Wagnerian destiny that awaited her.
