It is Flagello as the Comte Des Grieux, not Tozzi as written below.

I listened happily to this performance of Manon, presumably a one-off from Philadelphia or thereabouts (Sordello never sang Lescaut with Moffo at the Met or on tour). Moffo is lovely and charming, Gedda suave and vulnerable (the tapist lets us know when he enters in the first act with "Here he comes!"), Sordello and Tozzi are excellent too as is the rest of the cast. Guadagno leads an enjoyable performance.But the set is fatally flawed by annoying file corruption (what Andy calls skipping), beginning in the third act right in Manon's "Je marche sur tous les chemins". It is simply unlistenable (Moffo sings the optional high Ds).I wish Andy could get hold of better master, but that isn't likely.
