If there is a singer in the second half of the century who is synonymous with verissmo, it would have to be Magda Olivero.  Here she sings the glamorous, Sarah Bernhardt-inspired role of Fedora.   It is quintessential, unabashed, Italian style.  She is joined by a young Giuseppe Giacomini who spoils the audience with his rich vocal color and gleaming high notes.   The two seem to have a quite a chemistry (besides the obvious age difference.)
