- Compiling this retrospective, I was truly astonished at the breadth of repertoire that Walter Berry sang throughout his very long career. I had always associated him with the Wagnerian and Strauss roles, but he was also a very accomplished Mozart singer. The beauty of his tone combined with his artistic finesse make him one of the greats of the 20th century.
