Virginia Zeani and a young Jaime Aragall join forces for the outstanding La Bohème.  Jaime Aragall was always a singer's singer.  He never achieved the stardom that he deserved.   His tenor was probably one of the sweetest in recent memory.  He was also able to deliver the goods during Puccini's climaxes.  Virginia Zeani sings Mimi with such pathos without ever becoming maudlin.  It is a truly Italian performance.   The sound is good.
