Listen to a Sample:
Here you have a French opera about Germans sung by Italians. Fortunately opera is an international medium. Ferruccio Tagliavini assumes the title role. His voice my be a shade light, but he is able to convey the elegance of Goethe's tortured protagonist. Giulietta Simionato is both powerful and vulnerable as Charlotte. She makes the most of the climaxes and is quite exiting. The sound is very good.
