Pros:

  • Carol Neblett is a soprano that should have been a worldwide super-star. If you consider her technical ability alone, she was able to sing an incredibly wide variety of roles, from Vitellia in La Clemenza di Tito, to Thaïs and even Senta. Senta, in particular, was well suited to her youthful, yet opulent soprano, and she delivers a performance that, in my opinion, rivals some of the best.
  • Norman Bailey is excellent in the title role. His voice had the perfect blend of gruffness and warmth, giving the mysterious figure of the Dutchman extra depth.
  • The sound is very good.

Cons:

  • None to mention.
