Pros:
- Régine Crespin combines opulence and purity of tone to create a magical and moving portrayal of Leonore.
- Josef Greindl brings avuncular warmth to the role of Rocco.
- Vilem Pribyl struggles a bit with the end of "Gott! Welch dunkel hier" (he is certainly not the first tenor to be bested by those final bars), but he nonetheless makes an impressive showing as Florestan.
Cons:
- None to mention
