The key point of interest for this recording is clearly Montserrat Caballé's Donna Anna. She did Donna Elvira earlier in her career but this marks the first time she does Anna. It is a shame that she did not do it more often. Her voice seems made for the dramatic passages of "Or sai chi l'onore," spinning the endless lines of "Non mi dir" and the fioratura of "Forse forse un giorno." It is worth pointing out as well that Nicola Ghiuselev is excellent as the Don. The sound is very good.
