Listen to a Sample:
Pros:
- Casting a fuller voice as Violetta almost always means sacrificing some vocal acrobatics in Act I. Not the case with Maria Chiara. Her ample soprano is on display throughout the entire evening, including a "Sempre libera" sung with stunning power and ease.
- Nello Santi was a master of Verdi style, bringing equal parts tradition and invention.
Cons:
- None to mention.
