John Brecknock may not be the most glamorous Werther, but he brings the character’s brooding intensity to life with a sense of vulnerability that makes him feel fully human.
The supporting cast is strong across the board and even features a young John Tomlinson as Johann. As a fun bit of trivia, one of the children in the performance is none other than Ian Bostridge.
