Puccini: Tosca - Tomowa-Sintow, Domingo, Roar; Lopez-Cobos. München, 1977
Listen to a Sample:
Anna Tomowa-Sintow's was a voice that could seemingly do anything. At home in Mozart, Verdi and here Puccini. Her voice is opulent and always spot on. She is joined by Placido Domingo who sings Cavaradossi with his signature gusto. Leif Roar is a malevolent Sparpia. There is a hiss in the sound that comes through during some of the softer passages. It is not that obtrusive.
