- Matteo Manuguerra's performance will have you wondering why this stunning baritone didn't enjoy a bigger career. The only flaw I can find with his Rigoletto is that at times his tone is so beautiful it is at odds with this complex character's sadistic side. But on the flipside, his moments with Gilda have particular poignancy.
- Christiane Eda-Pierre brings fullness of tone and remarkable agility to the part of Gilda.
- John Macurdy is luxury casting as Sparafucile.
