Pros:
- It is hard to imagine in this day and age that in the 1970s going to the opera to see a cast of this caliber was fairly commonplace.
- Despite being in her mid 50s, Birgit Nilsson still had the vocal goods to make Brünnhilde sound easy.
- Thomas Stewart bring beauty and majesty to the role of Wotan.
- James King and Ingrid Bjoner are ideally cast as Siegmund and Sieglinde.
- Mignon Dunn and Martti Talvela round out the cast as Fricka and Hunding.
Cons:
- The sound is somewhat distant and the orchestra at times overwhelms the singers.
