Pros:
- Piero Cappuccilli's Iago is the standout of this performance of Otello. He brings a suave malevolence to the role, and is equally effective in the declamatory sections like the Credo as he is in the more intimate moments like "Era la notte".
- As Otello and Desdemona, Ingrid Bjoner and Hans Beirer skew a little Germanic, but what you lose in Italianate style you gain in Wagnerian opulence.
Cons:
- None to mention
