Donizetti: L'elisir d'amore - Di Stefano, Carteri, Fioravanti, Corena; Sanzogno. Edinburgh, 1957

This performance must have been from a touring company to the Edinburgh festival (founded by no other that Rudolph Bing.) Giuseppe Di Stefano sings the demanding role of Nemorino and shows that despite having taken on larger repertoire he could still sing very sweetly. Rosanna Carteri bring a voluptuousness of tone to the part of Adina that one rarely gets in this part. Fernando Corena's Dulcamara manages to charm both the performers and the audience. The sound is very good.
