Franco Corelli sang this performance just months before he would retire from the opera stage. To hear his high b at the end of "Nessum dorma" that decision seems perplexing. He sings like a god. He is joined by Hanna Janku as Turandot, a singer I had never heard of before. She has a nice cool stealy quality to her voice that works well in this role, not to mention a great high c. The sound is so so, but Corelli's brilliance manages to shine nonetheless.
