Pros:
- I am going to come out and say it: Antonietta Stella is the greatest Cio-Cio San who has ever lived. Many great sopranos have dabbled in the role only to give it up early in their career, but Stella made it a fixture of her rep and for good reason. She manages to convey a 15-year-old convincingly while simultaneously unleashing the kind of vocalism you would associate with Turandot.
- Daniele Barioni is phenomenal as Pinkerton. His voice has a wonderful balance of lyricism and heft. Although he never achieved the highest levels of stardom, none other than Mario Del Monaco was a fan, saying of the tenor "You are the most beautiful tenor voice of our day."
Cons:
- The sound is very clear, however there are occasional patches of static.
