Wagner: Parsifal (Act 1) - Ralf, Bampton, List, Janssen; E. Kleiber. Buenos Aires, 1946

$8.95

Description:

Erich Kleiber brings his distinct interpretive insight to Wagner’s final opera, leading the orchestra of the teatro colón in a performance that reveals both grandeur and restraint. His command of pacing and color allows the score to unfold with clarity, while the ensemble responds with finely etched playing. Torsten Ralf proves well-suited to the title role, his tenor balancing strength with lyrical sensitivity. Though Kundry’s role in Act I is limited, Rose Bampton manages to make an impression, particularly in her final lines before the scene shift. Some pitch inconsistencies in the original master have been corrected as much as possible.
