Pros:
- If you love the Goodall English Ring Cycle, this performance of (most of) Act III of Siegfried should be very appealing, as it offers some great singing as well as flawless English diction.
- That Margaret Curphey didn't have en enormous career outside of the U.K. is a mystery. She makes Brünnhilde's notoriously difficult cameo at the end of the opera sound easy.
- Jon Weaving is also excellent as Siegfried, bringing a youthful sound and a solid technique to the part.
- Charles Mackerras' effervescent touch is a welcome antidote to Reginald Goodall's broader approach.
- The sound is very good.
Cons:
