Ruggero Raimondi, still relatively young in 1970, may lack some of the gravitas he would later bring to his roles, but he compensates with vibrant, virile singing. Antonietta Stella shows some signs of vocal wear. Nevertheless, her opulent soprano finds moments to shine. The sound is excellent.
