It should come to no surprise to anyone who admires Marisa Galvany that she is superb in this recording of Tosca. Although there was almost no style that she didn't excel at, she was particularly well suited to roles that require red-hot temperament, like Tosca. Her outbursts are full-throated without sacrificing the integrity of the long melodic lines in "Vissi d'arte." The sound is fair. The voices are slightly distant.
