Description:
Montserrat Caballé provides a rare glimpse of her talents in baroque opera with this recording. While purists might balk at some of her choices, Caballé's renowned vocal control allows her to spin truly luxurious melodic lines. Kostas Paskalis brings grace and refinement to the title role, and Huguette Tourangeau is excellent as Sesto. However, the performance features numerous cuts, and the order of the arias has been completely rearranged.
