Sena Jurinac brings a radiant presence to the role of Leonore, combining soulful elegance with an opulent tone that elevates this performance of Fidelio. The sound quality is excellent, capturing her voice and the orchestra with remarkable clarity. That said, the outdoor setting occasionally introduces an amusing and unexpected rival in the form of an over-zealous bird, whose enthusiastic contributions are clearly audible. While this natural accompaniment may distract momentarily, it does little to diminish the overall impact of Jurinac’s deeply felt interpretation.
