In 1961 Anna Moffo was unstoppable in the lyric coloratura roles.   Here she is heard to excedllent effect as Violetta, knocking off runs when she needs to and singing with silky smooth line at other times.  Giuseppe Di Stefano often said that the only reason he sang Alfredo was because of the scene where he publicly insults Violetta by throwing the money, he has won gambling, at her.   Listening to that section, it does seem clear that he is relishing that moment.  Manuel Ausensi rounds off the cast as his father.   The sound is fair.  There is some digital interference.
