A great addition to your library for those who love great Verdi singing. Giuseppe Taddei is at his absolute best in the title role. He is joined by British soprano, Amy Shuard who alternates seamlessly from blood-thirsty, to grotesque and ultimately pathetic, all while singing very difficult music flawlessly (I will disclose that she does not take the d flat at the end of the sleepwalking scene, however, it is a fair trade for the opulence of tone she brings to the part.) Bruno Prevedi stands out in the smaller role of MaCDuff. The sound is excellent.
