Pros:
- If you mention the name "Rysanek" to any opera fan, they will immediately think of Leonie Rysanek. However, Leonie had an older sister, Lotte, who was also a singer. While Leonie went the route of becoming a jet-setting opera star, Lotte chose the more stable path as a "Fest singer" at the Vienna State Opera. Although that meant less glory, she was afforded many opportunities in roles large and small and got to share the stage with some of the greatest artists of her time (including her sister.)
- I am so happy to be able to share this artist with those of you who don't yet know her. After having spent a week compiling these excerpts, I am convinced that Lotte was every bit the star as Leonie.
