- This Trovatore may be one of my all-time favorites.
- Montserrat Caballé's lightning fast agility is made all the more impressive by the oppulence of her voice.
- Carlo Cossutta was a very underrated tenor. His baritonal tenor relishes both the long melodic lines and dramatic outbursts Verdi throws at the tenor.
- Irina Arkhipova is a wild Azucena and Sherrill Milnes is at the absolute height of his powers, interpolating a high b flat at the end of the opera.
