Pros:

  • It's hard to conceive of a more ideal paring in this opera. Magda Olivero's searing intensity could only be matched by the incomparable Richard Tucker. This is Puccini at its finest.
  • Vicente Sardinero in fine form as Lescaut.
  • Veteran Met character tenor Bernard Fitch sings some of the smaller tenor roles.

Cons:

  • Nothing to mention
