Tristan und Isolde

Hans Hopf brings a sense of burnished stoicism to Tristan, his performance grounded in strength and emotional restraint. Liane Synek, as Isolde, is often thrilling—her voice soaring through much of the role, though occasionally tested at the very top of her range. Janet Coster gives an excellent account of Brangäne, while Zoltan Kélémen, better known for darker roles like Alberich, surprises with moments of unexpectedly lyrical beauty.

At the podium, István Kertész adopts a slightly broader approach to the score, allowing his singers ample space while maintaining momentum and clarity throughout. The result is a balanced and vocally generous interpretation.

Very disappointed

What a disappointment! Singers from far away and some almost inaudible. A missed opportunity to hear the rare Kurwenal by Zoltan Kelemen (usually an extraordinary Alberich)...There are in your catalog rare gems and recordings whose sound quality is so shameful that they should not be included. It's a bit like a lottery...

you can guess, how it could be

the singers are so in the background, that you can think: Maybe it is a great performance - but it is so strenuous, to concentrate the mind and ears to the singers - maybe a great opera-perfomans - who kows!!
