I have compiled two sets of excerpts, both featuring conductor Arnold Quennet and Astrid Varnay.

The first is the complete Act II of Parsifal. Kundry was an ideal role for Varnay during her transition away from soprano repertoire. It allowed her to showcase her formidable acting abilities without the added demands of high-lying vocal passages. Despite the lower register, Wagner still provides Kundry with ample opportunities to highlight her upper register, and Varnay never disappoints.

In the final scene from Siegfried, she brings a Mozartian elegance to "Ewig war ich" while maintaining the vocal intensity expected of a great Brünnhilde.
