Description:

The cast pretty much speaks for itself, but the standout is Sylvia Fisher as Sieglinde. Known primarily for her work in Britten operas, she proves to be a natural fit for Wagner, and it's a shame that more recordings of her in this repertoire don't exist. Hans Hotter is in exceptional form as Wotan, while Ramón Vinay brings both vocal stature and elegance to the role of Siegmund.
