Georg Solti takes on Rigoletto with a legendary cast, bringing his customary dramatic drive while also displaying a surprisingly close affinity for early Verdi style. In the title role, Peter Glossop embodies the gruff nobility of the character, bringing keen attention to the text.

Anna Moffo is captured at the height of her powers as Gilda, dazzling in the coloratura moments and displaying enormous depth in the dramatic sections. Carlo Cossutta’s sweet-voiced Duke rounds out what can only be described as a legendary cast.
