I knew from her performances as Turandot and Elektra that Gladys Kuchta was capable of some very exciting singing. What I didn't know until hearing this German language Macbeth was that she could also control her voice and bring the nuance to this part that is necessary. The sleepwalking scene in particular is quite beautiful. James King is luxury casting as Macduff. He brings great feeling to his aria. The sound is good.
