What a unique experience it must have been to hear a soprano with such an ample voice manage break-neck coloratura better than most soubrettes. Fortunately this recording captures Joan Sutherland in excellent sound and in her prime. As if that wasn't enough, she is joined by Piero Cappuccilli as Germont. The sound is excellent but there are one or two drop-outs the most obtrusive one being the last minute of the performance. So as not to leave you all hanging, I have replaced it with the same scene from the legendary Lisbon Traviata with Maria Callas.
