In real stereo!
This is a really good performance, not quite great, but very good. Prevedi is good, not subtle, but good. Boris Christoff is very good. And Caballe, a little past her best, but still capable of very good singing, with amazing pianissimi, and incredible trills. It's all in genuine stereo, with stage movement, but no stage noises and no applause. With a few retakes this would have been a great commercial recording.

A GREAT "ERNANI"
A great radio recording of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Ernani", featuring and starring a fine cast: soprano Montserrat Caballe', tenor Bruno Prevedi, baritone Peter Glossop and bass Boris Christoff, all of them under the baton of Gianandrea Gavazzeni. Highly recommended! A must! Happy 4th of July and God bless America!
